Funding

The majority of our students studying for MSc or MRes courses within the Faculty of Life Science have self-arranged funding, either from private funds or through support from, for example, overseas funding agencies.

However, there are a number of scholarships which are available for Masters study. These scholarships are either linked to specific countries or courses.

UK/EU funding opportunities

We anticipate that the following Masters course will have scholarship awards for 2012/13. Full details on scholarship awards when they become available will be found in the course profiles:

Studentships carry support for tuition fees and living expenses (stipend).

There may be specific conditions related to full eligibility of EU applicants who are not UK nationals and, hence, awards may be for fees only. Funding body awards are subject to academic and residential eligibility criteria (as defined on their websites - BBSRC, EPSRC, MRC, NERC, ESRC, AHRC).

We offer a tuition fee loyalty bursary for 2012 graduates with a first class degree from The University of Manchester commencing a one year full time taught postgraduate masters programme at this University in September 2012.

The bursary will be up to £1,000 and will be offered as a discount on the total tuition fee due for the programme concerned. It will be applied centrally at registration. It will be available to both home and international students who are self funding i.e., they do not have any third party financial support from an external sponsor, charity, funding or similar organisation.
