We regularly update our page with upcoming events, from pub quizzes to public engagement opportunities! We also try to regularly update members via the faculty intranet email announcements and specific section-group emails.

Adjusting to a new city and new lab, as well as the switch from work or undergraduate degree to postgraduate life is a daunting proposition for any new student in the Faculty. Although individual lab groups make a great effort to welcome new students, the transition is not always as straightforward as it seems. That is where the FLS Postgraduate Society steps in! We aim to help post-graduate research students in the Faculty get in touch with their peers and make the most of their time as a postgraduate student.
The Society was formed in 2008, and currently consists of a group of around 15 PhD student reps. These students, with the support of FLS, organise a series of annual events, both social and academic in nature, to help welcome and support new students and encourage interaction of new and current students across the Faculty.
