Darwin's Birthday Party

Charles Darwin

2009 sees the 200th Anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and as part of the celebrations The Manchester Museum threw him a 200th birthday party in February. The Big Saturday was a huge celebration of Darwin’s life and work on evolution. Twenty members of Life Sciences took part in the day, bringing hands-on activities to the Museum or talking about their research with members of the public.

Members of the public had a chance to look at glowing molecules down a microscope and learn how Darwin studied Carnivorous plants. The day was a huge success and we hope to see you at the 201st birthday party next year!
