Science Stars Days
2 & 3 July 2013
We are continuing our popular Sciences Stars Days for Year 8 and 9 pupils. Pupils will diagnose patients with diabetes, extract their own DNA, learn how the components of cells work together, get hands on with “mucus” to learn about the immune response to parasitic worms and learn about the heart and lungs in a t-shirt drawing activity.
Discover Day
1 July 2013
Discover Days give Year 12 pupils a chance to learn more about a specific life sciences subject area by spending a day at the University and attending lectures and practical sessions in the labs. We will be running two Discover Days this year each highlighting different aspects of Biomedical Sciences.
Further details and booking will be available here in April 2013.
One off visits
During the University holidays, we may be able to arrange practical sessions in our teaching labs, including microbiology, molecular biology, plant or human biochemistry and physiology. We may also be able to arrange school or college visits to our research facilities.
